This opportunity entails being responsible for building and maintaining data pipelines and systems that support our data analysis and machine learning projects. You will be responsible for extracting, transforming, and loading data from various sources using SQL and AWS technologies, as well as creating and testing data models and schemas. You will also work closely with data scientists and analysts to provide them with the data they need to perform their tasks.

What You'll Do:

Designs, develops, and deploys data pipelines and systems using SQL, AWS, Python, and other technologiesImplements best practices for data engineering, such as data modeling, data quality, data governance, data security, etc.Performs data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure data accuracy and integrityMonitors, optimizes, and maintains existing data pipelines and systems for performance and scalabilityResearches and evaluates new data technologies and tools to improve data engineering processes and capabilitiesCollaborates with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver data solutions that meet or exceed expectations.Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, orIn lieu of education, 4 years of relevant experience.

What You'll Bring:

Proficiency in SQL queries and database managementExperience with Dashboarding tools such as PowerBI or TableauExperience with Data Gathering and Data Mapping exercisesExperience with AWS services such as S3, EC2, EMR, Lambda, etc.Experience with ETL tools and frameworks such as Airflow, Spark, Kafka, etc.Basic knowledge of Python or other programming languages for data manipulation and automationAbility to work in a team and communicate effectivelyExperience with a Public Sector Agency

What We Prefer:

Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering

The approximate pay range for Illinois is $71,265.82 - $106,898.74. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as physical work location within the state.
