We are hiring a Data Engineer for a leading healthcare company in the West Loop of Chicago! This is a full-time opportunity that requires onsite work 4 days a week. Required Skills & Experience 2 + years of experience in data engineering or a related field Proficiency in DBT Cloud, Python, Airflow and Google BigQuery Experience designing and optimizing ETL pipelines in cloud environments Strong understanding of SQL performance tuning and data warehousing best practices Hands-on experience with orchestration tools like Airflow or Prefect Knowledge of data governance, security and compliance best practices Desired Skills & Experience Experience with streaming architectures (Kafka, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, etc.) Familiarity with infrastructure as code Exposure to data observability and monitoring tools Google Cloud Certified Data Professional certification is a plus What You Will Be Doing
Tech Breakdown 80% Google Cloud (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub 20% Other tools (Terraform, CI/CD, Security & Compliance) Daily Responsibilities 70% Hands-On development of scalable ETL pipelines 20% Collaboration with analytics, data science, and DevOps team 10% Performance tuning and process improvement
