Data Entry Clerk
Job Title: Data Entry Clerk Job Description The primary job of every employee in this role is to provide outstanding customer service. Your main responsibilities will revolve around processing orders, primarily through email, and assisting the manager in providing the best possible buying experience, product delivery, and after-sale service. You will also help maximize the efficiency of the customer order process. Responsibilities + Complete assigned tasks to the best of your ability within the specified time. + Use effective time management techniques to accomplish assigned tasks. + Ask questions and request clarification if details seem unclear. + Enter customer orders into and interpret information from the company's computerized order processing system accurately and efficiently. + Seek new information by reading trade publications and other sources. + Possess an in-depth awareness of the different branch operations and how they relate to one another. + Cooperate seamlessly with showroom, warehouse, and slab sales personnel. + Ensure that all commitments made to customers and coworkers are reasonable and can be met. + Consider carefully what can be accomplished and avoid making commitments that are impossible to keep. + Demonstrate a willingness and ability to work within a team environment. + Maintain a positive relationship with other team members on a day-to-day basis and during special events such as inventory or parking lot sales. + Stay informed about competitors and their products. + Demonstrate proficiency in using company computer applications. + Keep current on new products, discontinued products, products with supply problems, and out-of-stock products. + Introduce customers to similar products when appropriate to minimize inconvenience. + Engage in problem-solving by actively listening to clients and coworkers. + Use sound problem-solving techniques to arrive at solutions. + Balance ongoing projects with the more immediate demands of the order desk. Essential Skills + 2+ years of order entry experience. + Proficiency in computer skills, including order entry and Microsoft Office. + Good with numbers and able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and area. + Effective time management and ability to prioritize multiple tasks. + Willingness to work in a collaborative environment. + Proficiency in data entry, inventory management, purchase orders, order fulfillment, freight logistics. + Bilingual in Spanish is a plus. + Experience with Profit21 or willingness to learn the system. + Ability to work well under pressure. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Expereince in freight management, specifically LTLs, freight, deliveries, etc. preferred. + Experience as a server or in upscale retail customer service. + Kindness and customer-first mentality. + Experience in the tile or interior design industry.
