Data Entry / ROI Specialist (Part-time)

Location: 3000 2nd Avenue South Birmingham, AL 35233

Hours:

Sunday 7:00am - 7:00pm (12 hour shift)

Friday 11:00pm - 7:30am (8 hour shift)

Pay: 16.50 per hour

Requirements and Competencies:

Data Entry / ROI Specialist is responsible for managing the secure and compliant release of medical records and health information for patients, authorized individuals, and third-party entities. This role ensures adherence to legal, regulatory, and organizational policies in handling requests for health records, while maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of patient information.

Experience:

1-3 years of experience in healthcare, preferably in health information management or a release of information role.

Operate a data entry device to process/input and verify a variety of standard coded or uncoded customer business and/or statistical source data into a computer.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.

Familiarity with medical records systems and terminology.

Prior experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and document management is a plus.

Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and other privacy laws related to patient information required.

Certified Health Information Technician (CHIT) or Certified Release of Information (ROI) Specialist certification preferred.
