CGI Federal is looking for an individual passionate about data governance to join our team. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to learn and implement new technology and advanced analytical tools in a cooperative encouraging environment. We are looking for an individual who can be responsible for leading and implementing data governance strategies related to integrity, accuracy, security, and quality policies of data assets across the organization. This individual will work closely with business leaders, data analysts, data scientists, and IT teams to establish and maintain data governance best practices, and who can work with the organization as a lead and a guide as they transition to and operate as a data driven organization in mindset and in data best practices.
This position can be located remotely anywhere in the U.S.
• Data Governance
o Collaborative development, communication, and ownership of cross organizational data governance board
o Development and enforcement of Data Governance Policies, Standards, Procedures – the Data Governance Framework for the organization
o Understanding of organizational policies and regulations governing data protection and usage
o Data Driven Education across the organization.
o Ownership of Data Quality standards and metrics reporting
• Data Management
o Data Inventory and Classification including:
? Identification / Classification / Cataloging of data assets
? Development and Maintenance of data dictionaries and metadata repositories
? Assessment and classification of data sensitivity and associated risk levels
o Data Access Management
? Implement data access controls and security.
? Manage data users access rights and privileges.
? Ensure data privacy and confidentiality.
o Data Quality Management
? Implement controls and monitor data quality – resolve issues.
? Development of data cleansing and remediation solutions
? Establishment of metrics and KPIs for data quality
• Minimum of 10 years of IT experience, with 3 years in data governance.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with data management tools and technologies (e.g., data warehouses, data lakes, data catalogs)
• Experience in cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google)
• Proficiency in data management tools and technologies
Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:
• Strong understanding of data architecture governance principles, frameworks, and best practices
• Certification in data governance or related areas (DM-BOK, CDMP, CISSP, and/or CIPP)
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and license and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $111,600.00 - $219,600.00.
