The Data Governance Lead will report to the VP, Data Product Librarian and will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Healthfirst data governance program. This includes oversight of stewardship, data quality, and metadata management for all data assets and data products across the enterprise. The Data Governance Lead works closely with business and technical teams to establish and deliver the strategy such that all employees of Healthfirst understand and treat data as a valuable, strategic asset. The incumbent is a change agent who engages and collaborates with business and IT teams to build and maintain trusted data products that deliver value. The Lead uses exceptional communication and a strong, visible presence to influence at all levels of the organization.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Socialize and promote the organization’s data governance vision, strategy, and roadmap.Design, document, and implement data governance policies, procedures, and standards.Establish, measure, and publish enterprise data quality standards and metrics. Oversee data quality incident management.Oversee the metadata management process for Information Management including management of the content and use of the data catalog.Provide training and guidance to Healthfirst employees on data governance principles, policies, procedures, and best practicesPrepare and present reports on data governance compliance, quality metrics, value, and other key performance indicators.Additional duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.Demonstrated understanding of data governance principles, frameworks, and best practices.Demonstrated ability to influence and drive change in a complex environment.Minimum of 5 years of experience building or running an enterprise data governance program that includes stewardship and data quality management.Experience with modern data architectures, patterns, and cloud provider platform solutions.Strong business acumen with a minimum of 10 years prior experience across IT and/or Healthcare, Insurance related fields.Exceptional ability to effectively communicate with business and technical colleagues and make complex ideas understood.Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in a legal, healthcare administration, information management, IT, or related field.5+ years’ experience in a healthcare organization, preferably in a health plan setting.Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP).Agile Experience (Scrum, SAFe).Experience with AWS.Experience with any Data Catalog tools like Data WorldExperience managing code sets, taxonomies, and ontologies.Experience with any type of Data catalog tools such as Data WorldExperience translating privacy, regulatory, and compliance requirements into data governance policies, procedures, and technical requirements.Problem solving – uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions. Probes various sources for answers and leverages existing best practices when can. Will look beyond the obvious and does not stop when faced with obstacles.Peer relationships – Can quickly find common ground and solve problems for the good of all with minimum noise; is a team player and gains trust and support of peers. Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $162,600 - $248,795
All Other Locations (within approved locations): $139,000 - $212,670
As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.
