Data Governance Specialist
Department:Allocations Title:Data Governance Specialist Reports to:Data Entry Supervisor FLSA Status:Exempt Location:Hybrid/NYC Metro JOB SUMMARY: The Data Governance Specialist is responsible for playing a crucial role in maintaining the foundation of accurate, high-quality data within the organization, ensuring that data can be used effectively across various business functions. This role will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency and completeness of critical business data across systems, processes and reporting. The Data Governance Specialist will play a critical role in building a positive work culture, driving employee involvement, and supporting change management efforts within the retail organization. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensures consistency, accuracy and integrity of data across enterprise systems Develops a thorough understanding of data flow, impact, and interdependencies with ERP, Merchandising systems and reporting Supports monitoring of data integrity, process adherence and issue resolution Maintains quality control and conducts routine audit of Item and Purchase Order data Works closely with business units to identify data requirements and ensure compliance with established guidelines Develops and maintains documentation of best practices and business rules for data management Identifies opportunities for process enhancements and automation within the data management lifecycle Performs other duties as may be assigned REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES: 4 or more years of experience in data management within a retail environment Experience in a retail merchandising setting preferred Familiarity with data management concepts and practices Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Excellent communication, motivation and multi-tasking skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and prior experience with Merchandising systems EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelors Degree or commensurate practical experience PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee must frequently use their hands to handle or feel objects and must be able to speak and hear clearly. The employee may occasionally need to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. The employee must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
