This opportunity resides with Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Who We Are
HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Data Link Subject Matter Expert (SME) at Ramstein Air Base, Germany. Will be supporting our customers, US Air Forces in Europe (USAFE), the 435th Air Ground Operations Wing, and their subordinate organizations with implementing Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) network solutions. The Data Link SME works closely with customers and staff in support of USAFE networked command and control systems throughout Europe. Qualified applicants have a background in communications engineering, computer systems engineering, or network engineering, and technical and operational expertise in military communications, command and control, and data link systems.
The ideal candidate will reside within a commutable distance of Ramstein Air Base, Germany
What You Will Do Integrate data links fully into a JADC2 architecture by regular coordination with USAFE Wing LUMs and the 603 AOC Joint Interface Control Cell Maintain a unit-level Tactical Data Link Inspection Program Assist in planning data link usage in JADC2 exercises and operations Monitor and test data link performance, identify possible solutions, and implement solutions Provide current and relevant insight on technical aspects of data link systems, and inform the customer of significant changes and developments Develop curriculum and deliver training on data link systems. What We Are Looking For 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience. 5 years relevant experience with service, joint, or combined data link interoperability operations and exercises Experience with Tactical Data Link (TDL) enabled equipment, including the Move-Out Jump-(MOJO) kit, and the Battlefield Awareness & Targeting System-Dismounted PRC-161, and strong knowledge of JT-101 concepts/principles Experience in military communications systems and/or network engineering in a large distributed environment with an emphasis on military (US/NATO) operations Clearance- Must possess and maintain a Top Secret with SCI eligibility. Preferred: Bonus Points For... 10 years relevant experience with service, joint, or combined data link interoperability operations and exercises Familiar with engineering or architecture of tactical data links for JADC2 Completion of JT-102 and JT-201, or JT-220 Possess COMPTIA Security+ or Network+ Certification Ability to communicate clearly to technical and non-technical personnel Experience as a USAF COMSEC Responsibility Officer (CRO) Flexible with proven ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
