The Office of the Vice Provost for Research & Scholarship, Office of Research Administration (ORA) has a great opportunity for a Data Management Coordinator to work at the University of Miami.
CORE JOB SUMMARY
The Data Management Coordinator works with internal and external stakeholders to review new research administration proposals, awards, contracts and associated documents, data capture vital elements to each of these documents/packets, index and scan all documents/packets and route work product to Pre and Post Award.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Analyzes new projects and use independent judgment to process projects in a appropriate and timely fashion.Completes tasks requiring detailed analysis and an understanding of UM and sponsor policies and procedures with limited guidance. Proper and timely completion of new tasks is critical to adherence to sponsor deadlines, ORA workflow and customer satisfaction.Assesses deadlines and process tasks based on prevailing team deliverables; re-prioritizes tasks as needed.Inputs relevant information into UM databases and research management tools, including scanning as needed.Facilitates ongoing communication with internal and external stakeholders, which includes communications received from ORA Central Inboxes (ORA Admin & E-Docs, etc.), phone calls and emails.Routes completed work product to appropriate stakeholders such as creating Awards.Generates quality assurance reports and act upon to ensure data is accurate for internal Research Administration systems.This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as necessary.
CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience. Experience with sponsored research preferred. Any appropriate combination of relevant education and/or work experience may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and strong oral and written English Language communication skills required.Strong attention to detail, with the ability to multi-task and succeed in a fast-paced environment.Strong time-management skills.Strong customer service skills.Excellent data entry skills.Proficiency using MS Office products.Experience with sponsored research preferred.Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
