The transformative power of AI means there is an ever-greater need for best in the industry management of data and we are currently in search of a Data Manager to accelerate our digitalization journey. In this role, you will unlock the power of data while securing accountability, availability, quality, and compliance across the Volvo Penta business. You will steer and execute on multiple aspects of data management (documentation, quality, availability, preparation, and reuse) while supporting the data governance domain. You will collaborate with stakeholders in the Volvo Group to shape Data Governance & Data Management transformation and ensure their successful implementation at Penta. We are seeking an individual with a creative and innovative mindset who can provide Data Management leadership and support within the end-to-end lifecycle of managing data.

 

As Data Manager, you will be become an integral part of the cross-functional team within Volvo Penta Digital & IT organization and report directly to the Head of Data. You will have the opportunity to work with highly skilled and passionate colleagues, drive our Data Acceleration journey, collaborate with colleagues across the globe within Volvo Penta and Volvo Group, and grow professionally in an international environment.

 

The position is based at Volvo Penta headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden. Occasional travel outside Gothenburg is expected.

Core Responsibilities Take a leading role in managing the data management vision and roadmap, policies, processes and roles and responsibilities for Volvo Penta in collaboration with the rest of Volvo Group. Create, revise, and enforce data quality principles, dimensions, processes, responsibilities, and measurements. Define, perform, and lead data quality analysis activities including data profiling across the Volvo Penta system landscape. Ensure good data quality at source with a focus on people, behaviors and change management. Drive the data management competence build-up across Volvo Penta. Ensure documentation of Volvo Penta data assets into the Volvo Group Data Catalog and define as well as manage methodology for harvesting & managing meta-data. Manage the Volvo Penta’s scope within the Volvo Group Data Marketplace concept and requirements incl. guidelines & frameworks for data product development and data product definition. Drive the Volvo Penta onboarding and implementation onto the Volvo Group Data Management Tool (e.g., Data Modeling, Data Catalog, Data Marketplace, Data Quality and Master Data Management). Visualize data and information for communication to stakeholders in visual analytics tools such as PowerBI. Coordinate cross-functional teams and stakeholders across Volvo Penta to drive the resolution of data management issues. Ensure compliance with legal, data privacy and security standards for data together with the Data Privacy Officer and Information Security Officer.   Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Experience in Data Governance & Data Management. Experience in implementation of Data Governance & Data Management programs. Experience in operational management of data. Experience in coordinating cross-functional teams and driving projects from ideation to implementation. Excellent communication and change management skills. Experience with visual analytics tools such as PowerBI. Experience from Management Consulting companies is a merit. Proficient in English, both verbal and written. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Understanding of legal and industry standards for Data Management.
