Data Manager/ Team Lead- Market Intelligence (Mutual Fund & Expense Data Team)

Overview

ISS STOXX is growing! We are searching for a Team Lead/ Data Manager to provide leadership and management for a data team within our Market Intelligence division. In this position you will lead a dynamic team of researchers, working collaboratively to deliver timely, high quality financial data.

Be part of a multinational global leader providing business intelligence tools that guide many of the largest players in the mutual fund industry.

Responsibilities

Oversee and lead Manila team to ensure timely delivery of accurate and comprehensive global mutual fund and ETF (exchange traded fund) data collected from fund documents

Perform people management and administrative functions, conduct performance reviews and regular appraisals to ensure each team member works toward clearly defined and accepted professional and personal goals 

Strategize, plan, and utilize models to implement effective resource utilization and perform cost analyses

Perform data quality assurance: identifying and analyzing data quality issues

Monitor and analyze individual and team performance metrics to achieve business and development goals; identify opportunities for increasing productivity, efficiency, and accuracy 

Work collaboratively with team members and management in both the Philippines and the U.S.

Communicate the status of projects, articulate issues, and share resolutions with key stakeholders

Coach, train, and provide opportunities for team members to develop skills and expand work responsibilities

Solve complex client or data issues as they arise

Create and update documentation of work processes and maintain institutional knowledge in a centralized, web-based database

Handle recruitment, selection, and onboarding of prospective candidates 

Support relevant process improvements, as well as technology projects, by contributing to specifications and testing deliverables

Provide support to the Product team and ensure success of product development/strategy

Special projects as assigned

Keep up to date on financial industry news and market trends

Qualifications

Training & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Management, Finance, Business, Accounting, Math, Statistics, or a closely related field

At least 5 years relative work experience (i.e., database research for financial corporate data) in a high-quality and hard deadline-driven environment; previous experience in leading/coaching/training analysts is a plus

Comprehensive knowledge of mutual fund fee structures

Proficiency in using Excel and experience modeling, forecasting, planning, and leading large-scale research projects

Strong experience in designing and implementing data quality assurance programs

Strong verbal and written communication skills; can thrive in a cross-border / multi-cultural work

Work Location & Schedule:

Amenable working at Makati City on a permanent late dayshift schedule (12 nn– 9 pm, Manila Time)

Amenable to undergo 2-6 months onsite training on a midshift schedule (2 pm- 11 pm, Manila Time) prior to transitioning to hybrid working arrangement.

Hybrid working arrangement (at least 3 days' work onsite per week)
