We want to find an innovative, adaptable, and results-oriented Data Modeler for our Chied Data Office function. This position is located in Waltham, MA (candidates may also reside in either Massachusets, Connecticut, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, or Maine). What you'll do
As a Data Modeler, you'll be part of the Chief Data Office function and report into our Global Data & Analytics Architecture Group. You'll be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team of data and analytics leaders, and fellow data experts to develop and manage data products that can empower our business to make decisions from data to drive growth activities and bring efficiencies to our data processes and data maturity.
You'll play an important role in operationalizing the most-urgent data and analytics initiatives for NationalGrid digital business initiatives. You'll design and build relational and analytical data models (conceptual, logical, physical) to fulfill the strategic data needs of the business. Key responsibilities include the following:
A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, data management, information systems, information science or a related quantitative field. 10+ years or more of work experience in data modeling disciplines including, model creation and optimization, and/or other areas directly relevant to data modeling responsibilities and tasks. 10+ years of experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with business stakeholders in utilities in support of a departmental and/or multi-departmental data management and analytics initiative. Strong experience with Data modeling tools such as – ER / Studio, Erwin, PowerDesigner etc. Experience with implementing and maintaining data models. Hands-on experience with third-party utility enterprise data models including electric utility business. Deep knowledge and experience with utility data models for the gas and electric utility business. Deep knowledge and experience with conceptual, logical, and physical data models. Deep knowledge of 3NF and creating data models using relational design. Knowledge of NoSQL database design and dimensional design. Experience and knowledge of Snowflake and other NoSQL databases is a plus. Experience in working with stakeholders who create business data requirements, and in using the requirements to drive the design of the data models. Experience with and knowledge of third-party utility enterprise data models including gas utility business. Familiarity with the integration of large Heterogeneous datasets.

Salary
$162,000 - $191,000 a year
This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
