Data Modelling - ECAD Library (Footprint and Symbol)

Thales India Engineering Competency Center in Bangalore is seeking a Data Modelling - ECAD Library (Footprint) role to be part of Hardware engineering team. In this role, the person will be responsible for creating footprints:  

Creation of Cadence Symbols based on IEEE Standard, or equivalent IEC-60617 standard.

Creation of Cadence Footprint Symbols based on the IPC Standard and 3D-models for electronic components.

Maintenance of existing libraries                                            

Using the CAD system : Allegro Design Entry HDL (CADENCE)

Strong commitment in terms of meeting deadlines

Ensuring the upmost high quality and reliability

Experience working with part numbering for electronic components and Assemblies

Experience working with component database

Experience in creating Symbol for electrical / electronic parts

Monitor and update through large datasets the technical characteristics

Familiar with Electronic or Mechanical component suppliers, industry and market drivers

Knowledge of the Group Database (TCIS), IHS, Silicon Expert (or similar) would be a plus

Should have experience of working with multi-disciplinary team (Mechanical design team, electrical design team, TCIS, Component suppliers, etc.)

Good team player

Excellent communications with proficiency in spoken and written English

Demonstrates a high level of attention to detail

Organizational and multitasking skills are a must

Technical Skills and Competencies: 

Competent using the software’s:

Allegro Design Entry (Cadence)

SymGen (Mentor Graphics) 

Excel (including its formatting functions using string search and string operators)

IEEE Std91a-1991 or IEC-60617 standards

Good knowledge of electronic circuits (digital and analog components, their technology, logic functions).

Qualifications: Bachelor of Technology in Electronics & Communication or Electrical engineering or equivalent with 3 to 7 years of relevant experience.
