About the department
Data & Analytics is a new team formed by consolidating Data Management and Business Intelligence roles into a single, elevated department in response to Novo Nordisk Japan’s in-creasing investment in this area. You will work alongside Data Product Owners and Analytics Product Owners, enabling their engineering teams to develop high-value, often business-critical solutions for stakeholders in commercial teams across the organization.
The position
As the Platform Lead on our Data & Analytics Team, you will leverage and adapt Novo Nordisk’s new global data architecture to build a modern, Snowflake-based solution for data warehousing and automation in Japan. You will ensure this platform meets local requirements and is utilized in accordance with our Data Governance framework. You will also oversee a small team responsible for data source ingestion and the preparation of a clean and normalized upstream environment, providing other engineers with the building blocks necessary to develop and deploy logic-rich data products on your platform. These products will serve a wide range of use-cases, creating value for our commercial organization by automating quantitative processes and enabling data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications
Full proficiency in English required; business-level Japanese preferred. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field preferred. Minimum 5 years of combined experience in Data Management or Data Engineering, preferably in an international, enterprise setting. Advanced SQL skills, knowledge of Python, and familiarity with the modern data stack (e.g., Snowflake, dbt, Apache Airflow, AWS, etc.) as well as familiarity with modern methodologies for software projects and operations (e.g., SAFe, DevOps); experience from regulated industries considered a plus. Experience managing engineering resources, including line management, team leadership, or vendor relationships.
