Data Privacy & Technology Senior Associate | 6+ PQE | International law firm | Birmingham BCL Legal is delighted to be assisting an international law firm in their search for a Senior Associate to join their highly regarded Commercial Team in Birmingham, focusing on data privacy and technology matters. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced lawyer to take on a dynamic role within a fast-growing team, working with high-profile clients across a variety of sectors. The Role As a Senior Associate, you will be part of a high-performing national team that provides first-class advice on a range of non-contentious data privacy and technology-related matters. Your responsibilities will include: · Advising clients on data privacy compliance, including legal strategies for GDPR and data protection issues. · Drafting, negotiating, and advising on technology agreements, such as SaaS licenses, consultancy agreements, outsourcing arrangements, and IT contracts. · Providing input on data sharing and data processing arrangements, both standalone and as part of wider commercial agreements. · Assisting with corporate due diligence and data protection disclosures. · Contributing to business development efforts, building client relationships, and raising the firm's profile through thought leadership (articles, webinars, seminars) on topical issues such as AI. · Managing and progressing matters independently, with the ability to lead on complex and high-profile issues. What You'll Need Our client is looking for a qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with at least 6 years PQE in advising on data privacy and technology matters. The successful candidate will have: · Excellent technical skills and a proactive approach to applying them. · Proven experience managing and progressing matters independently. · Strong client focus and excellent service delivery. · Previous experience with non-contentious data protection, technology contracts, and privacy compliance is essential.
