Data Product Manager

We are looking for an expert Product Manager to drive the development and management of our insurance product offerings. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of the insurance industry, strong analytical capabilities, and a customer-first attitude. This role is critical in driving the growth and success of our insurance products, ensuring they meet market demands and regulatory requirements while delivering outstanding value to our customers. 

You will work closely with the Business & IT teams to take ownership of data products, including pipelines, data warehouses, and analytics tools. Proven experience as a Product Owner (or similar function) with strong experience in an insurance business area. Strong understanding & interest in data engineering, data warehousing, and analytics concepts.

You will be responsible for guiding the success of a product delivery and leading the cross-functional team that is responsible for improving it. It is a pivotal role that requires balancing various factors to ensure that the delivery object meets market needs and aligns with Chubb’s strategic goals. 

Key responsibilities: 

Product Strategy and Vision:

Develop and articulate a clear product strategy and vision that aligns with company goals and market trends. Conduct detailed market analysis to find opportunities and threats, ensuring our products remain competitive and innovative. Collaborate with senior leadership to set strategic objectives and performance goals for the insurance product portfolio.

Product Development:

Lead the end-to-end product development process, from ideation to launch, ensuring timely and successful delivery of new insurance products. Define detailed product requirements, including customer needs, feature specifications, and compliance requirements. Work closely with cross-functional teams (underwriting, actuarial, legal, IT, marketing) to develop and refine product offerings.

Product Lifecycle Management:

Manage the full lifecycle of insurance products, including product launch, ongoing improvements, and end-of-life planning. Supervise product performance using key metrics and make data-driven decisions to optimise product offerings. Regularly review and adjust product strategies based on customer feedback, market conditions, and business priorities.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Act as the primary product champion within the company, communicating product plans and progress to stakeholders. Collaborate with sales, marketing, and customer service teams to develop effective go-to-market strategies and ensure alignment on product messaging. Maintain positive relationships with external partners, including brokers, agents, and regulatory bodies.

Compliance and Risk Management:

Ensure all products follow relevant insurance regulations and standards. Work closely with legal and compliance teams to manage product-related risks and address regulatory changes. Stay informed of regulatory developments and industry trends that could impact product offerings.

Customer Focus:

Deeply understand customer needs through research, data analysis, and direct engagement. Ensure product decisions are customer-centric and improve the overall customer experience. Gather and analyse customer feedback to continuously improve products and services.

Requirements & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree in a related field is preferred.Experience with data lakes, data warehouses, business intelligence and reporting.Familiarity with cloud technologies (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google, Databricks, Snowflake)Experience with analytics and AI/MLCertification in NICE InContact or related technologies is a plus but not required.Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or above.5+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years in the insurance industry (life, health, property, casualty, etc.).Demonstrated success in managing insurance products, from conceptualisation to launch and beyond.Experience working in a highly regulated environment, with a strong understanding of insurance industry regulations.Sophisticated knowledge of product development, marketing, data management.Experience leading multiple teams through data transformation initiatives.Experience working with senior executives, strategic vendors and regulators.Strong analytical skills with ability to troubleshoot, research, assess and develop observations/findings.Ability to communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical groups.Experience with leading large/complex migration efforts from traditional legacy environments to Cloud based, data streaming platforms. Empathy and passion for improving customer experience and journeys.Proficiency in product management tools and software (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, etc.). Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
