Data Protection and Privacy Coordinator for MEE Region - Legal Counsel

PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

When processing personal data as part of its business operations, SAP must comply with the requirements of the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data protection and privacy laws in the countries where SAP operates.

To support the local SAP entities in meeting their data protection and privacy compliance obligations, SAP has established a global Data Protection and Privacy network. This network is part of SAP’s global Data Protection & Privacy team reporting to SAP’s Group Data Protection Officer. The task of the Regional Data Protection and Privacy Coordinator is to support the locally responsible management in implementing the data protection requirements.

We are looking for a Regional Data Protection and Privacy Coordinator for the SAP region MEE who should support data protection and privacy matters for Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary.

 

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

The Data Protection and Privacy Coordinator is supporting data protection compliance on the assigned local level in the regional. The role supports the followings tasks and acts as regional representatives of SAP’s Group Data Protection Officer on assigned local entity level.

The Data Protection and Privacy Coordinator’s main tasks are to:

Assist the local CFO’s in meeting their responsibility for GDPR topics, local data protection topics and dedicated processes of the legal entity Conduct Data Protection and Privacy analysis on local applicable and upcoming DPP law Review existing Data Protection and Privacy Controls, roles and responsibilities and develop Data Protection and Privacy recommendations Provide recommendations for the implementation of local legal requirements Support the creation of local data protection policies or standards Develop and perform local data protection trainings for employees Drive local data protection and privacy report Support local Data Protection and Privacy compliance audits Support local management in a case of local supervisory authority requests data breaches, escalations triggered by a data subject or any other control requests Monitor and support those local processes within the assigned region are enrolled in the records of processing activities and provide regular report

 

EDUCATION

Graduation from accredited law school, further graduation advantageous

 

PROFESSIONAL TRAINING & CERTIFICATION

 licensed to practice law in the appropriate jurisdiction

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

Good knowledge of local data protection laws and best practices and/or strong desire to learn data protection laws, local data protection laws in the region Good written and verbal communication Good presentation skills Good collaborative work relationship skills with similar functions across the company Customer focused and business driven Good competence with various tools Fluency in English and one main local language in the region

 

PREFERRED SKILLS

Proficiency in other languages advantageous

 

WORK EXPERIENCE

Not required but preferred: good knowledge of local laws, general knowledge of company processes and collaboration with global/cross-functional teams
(minimum 3-5 years working experience)
