We are seeking a talented and experienced data protection leader to join our Information Security department and lead the data protection function. This highly visible and influential leadership role will lead and oversee the cross functional and enterprise-wide data protection function, ensuring the most sensitive data is identified, classified, tagged and protected.Responsibilities
Provide leadership and oversight for the cross-functional and enterprise-wide data protection program, inclusive of driving the overall strategy, methodology and roadmap for the data protection processes, systems, tools and technologies utilized.Collaborate with cross functional groups and leadership (Legal, Compliance, HR, Finance, Internal Audit, Product Management teams, external auditors, etc.) and assist them in the identification and classification of their data.Own the enterprise data protection strategy, and corresponding policies and standards, that align with the organization’s goals and objectives.Collaborate with cross-functional groups and leadership and assist them in ensuring that sensitive and proprietary data is appropriately tagged and the associated protection measures are configured to protect it to ensure security and compliance with applicable data privacy and information security regulations and customer requirements.Continuously evaluate the data loss program for efficacy. Serve as a SME on the organization’s data protection standards in responding to due diligence requests and managing through any data loss incidents.Lead cross-functional team members through an indirect reporting relationship.Review, prioritize and recommend data protection improvements as they relate to the achievement of business goals and objectives.Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or demonstrated significant expertise in data protection through practical experience10+ years of progressive and relevant work experience, with demonstrated leadership skills leading diverse information security teams / functions.One or more relevant professional certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CISA, SSCP, CEH, etc.)Understanding of the legal, regulatory, and/or customer requirements for data protection.Familiarity and working knowledge of data protection technologies and solutions, such as encryption, access controls, and backup and recovery solutions (CASB, DLP, NGFWs, etc.).The ability to identify and assess potential risks to data and implement appropriate measures to mitigate them.The ability to communicate data protection policies and procedures effectively and provide training to employees to ensure compliance.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a multi-disciplined environmentExcellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work on multiple concurrent tasks with demanding deadlines.Must be able to lawfully work within and/or have unrestricted work authorization for the country where you will be located.
