Data Protection Manager

The position will support the Global Compliance Team in ensuring that LN continues to meet our global privacy obligations. This role covers will support the Privacy team in relation to their obligations in North America and the UK.

Accountabilities:

To assist the Global Compliance Team to lead and manage Data Privacy standards for North America and the UK by:

Implementing and reviewing personal data processes across these regionsConducting privacy compliance reviews of new projects and to promote awareness of privacy standards and requirementsWorking with IT, Security, HR, Procurement, Product, Content, Legal, Finance and Marketing departments across the organisation to maintain the requisite understanding and awareness of current and future regulations and its impacts upon the businessManage data subject requestsInforming and advising LexisNexis and our personnel of our obligations to comply with data protection laws globally, including identifying appropriate industry best practice requirementsAssisting Global Compliance and the Data Protection Officers in the design and implementation of a global compliance program incorporating all lines of defense with features such as: Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), regular privacy compliance reviews, compliance monitoring (including board reporting), policy reviews and updates, and training and awareness-raising programs.Measuring and tracking privacy compliance activity and communicating privacy status to Global Compliance and the Data Protection Officers

Qualifications:

Flexibility to work between UK and US work hours (mid/night shift)Open to following US holidays instead of localUniversity degree or equivalent.Fluency in English is required; additional language skills would be useful.Experience designing and running international data protection programs.Detailed working knowledge of data protection requirements.Deep understanding of systems, data and processes.Ability to communicate effectively with all levels, roles and functions in the organization.Ability to communicate effectively with data subjects, data protection authorities and other controllers and processors across national boundaries and cultures.Excellent communication skills.Ability to travel globally as neededIAPP or other officially recognized privacy certification is a plus.
