Great American’s Financial Institution Services Division specializes in providing risk management and product enhancement programs to vehicle lenders and lessors, commercial equipment lenders, auto dealers and mortgage lenders throughout the U.S. and Canada. Target clients include commercial banks, credit unions, finance companies, buy-here pay-here dealers and leasing and rental concerns. 

The Division insures all forms of collateral securing mortgages, retail installment contracts and loans. This includes residential and commercial real property, commercial vehicles, commercial contents and equipment, motorcycles, recreational vehicles, watercraft and aircraft. We are looking for a Data Reporting Analyst to work a hybrid schedule out of our corporate headquarters in downtown Cincinnati.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

Participates in preparing basic financial and business-related analysis and reporting. Defines business and legal reporting requirements through research, interpretation of regulations, and business unit requests to meet customer needs.Participates in capturing, developing, and documenting data definitions, business rules, and data quality requirements.Participates in collecting and analyzing data for validity and accuracy in preparation of assigned reports and maintaining department databases.Identifies and makes recommendations for resolution of identified issues in data and reporting quality. Utilizes department/company software to prepare basic data queries.Analyzes business intelligence data to inform business and product decisions.Participates in ensuring compliance with deliverable reporting requirements by performing quality data audits and analysis.  Develops and maintains knowledge of data sources content and structure to assess the quality of data.Develops understanding of industry products/coverages and applies that knowledge to support business activity.Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.Generally, 1 to 3 years of related experience.  Developing knowledge in relational database tools (i.e., SQL, Cognos, etc.).  Previous experience in the insurance industry preferred. Must be detail oriented and have a high curiosity for data and developing creative solutions.Strong communication skills.Experience with Excel and SQL preferred.Beginning coursework toward certification in area of expertise preferred; appropriate certifications could include; an Associate Insurance Data Manager (AIDM), or Certificate in General Insurance (INS).
