The Opportunity:

CACI is looking for a data science and Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) lead.  A successful candidate is a technical leader responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and pipelines necessary to seamlessly transition machine learning models from development to production, overseeing the entire lifecycle of model deployment, monitoring, and optimization, while collaborating closely with data scientists and engineering teams to ensure efficient and scalable AI solutions within an organization.

Responsibilities:

Pipeline Development: Architect and build automated ML pipelines using tools like CI/CD, orchestrating data preprocessing, feature engineering, model training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring across various environments.

Infrastructure Management: Design and manage the underlying infrastructure for ML operations, including cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and data storage solutions.

Model Monitoring and Evaluation: Establish comprehensive monitoring systems to track model performance metrics in real-time, identify potential issues, and trigger alerts for necessary interventions.

Collaboration with Data Scientists: Partner with data science teams to translate research prototypes into production-ready models, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.

Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of MLOps engineers, providing technical guidance and best practices for efficient ML operations.

Model Governance: Implement policies and procedures to ensure responsible AI development, including data quality checks, bias detection, and version control.

Cost Optimization: Analyze and optimize ML model performance and resource utilization to maintain cost-effectiveness in production. 

Qualifications:

Required: 

A current TS clearance with SCI eligibility BA/BS in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field, and 7+ years of directly related experience

Possess certifications as directed by DoDD 8140.x, such as CompTIA Security+ or equivalent

Proficiency in Python, which strong understanding of data manipulation libraries like Pandas an NumPy, or other related

Expertise in ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn

Understanding of data pipelines, data preprocessing, and data quality checks

Able to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders, and lead cross-functional teams.

Desired: 

Experience utilizing architecture tools such as SPARX EA or Cameo

Experience with complex system of systems engineering practices.

Experience with tool automation and integration technical auditing.

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$78,000 - $163,800
