EchoStar has an exciting opportunity in our Hughes Network Systems division for a Data Science Intern. This position will be located at our Gaithersburg, MD office.

Responsibilities:

Write code, analyze data, and will be responsible for developing dashboards, applying machine learning methods, such as clustering, classification, and Linear and Logistic regression.Contribute directly to a project, you will work with, and be mentored by, an engineering team consisting of other ML, data and software engineers.Become familiar with DevOps principles to continuously deliver high-quality software.Work with Docker to develop and deploy containerized versions of models.Collect statistics from the routers /modems at a higher interval than is done currently, process data for anomalies and report on any system anomaliesVisualization and Reporting - Create dashboards, charts, and visualizations to communicate insights effectively. Prepare reports and presentations to share findings with the team and stakeholders.Contribute ideas and solutions to data-driven challenges.

Basic Requirements

Currently enrolled in a bachelor's programMust have 60 credit hours completed by May 20253.0 GPA or above

Preferred Qualifications:

Machine learning techniques and predictive analytics (e.g., deep learning, regression, classification, clustering, unsupervised learning)Ability to work with integrated development environments, such as Jupyter  notebook, PyCharm, and Visual Studio CodeAbility to consume or interface with cloud computing and storage services, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google CloudFamiliarity or desire to become familiar with containerization technologies, such as Docker, KubernetesExperience with relational DBs Experience with Linux & Windows OS Experience with Agile development methodologies Experience with IOT and MQTT technologies Experience with Python

Compensation Range

Annual Salary: $49,000.00 - $70,000.00
