Data Science Product Manager

As a Product Manager in the Pricing, Profitability, and Forecasting Algorithms team, you’ll help build and scale machine learning and economics-based products that guide Wayfair’s commercial strategy. Our portfolio spans pricing, cost prediction, competitive intelligence, demand forecasting, and new product success prediction—influencing decisioning on billions in revenue. These products guide high-stakes decisions across pricing, marketing, inventory planning, and supplier negotiations. You’ll work cross-functionally with engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to shape high-leverage products that are trusted, explainable, and impactful. This is an ideal role for analytically strong, solution-oriented PMs looking to grow their ownership and impact in a highly technical domain. What You’ll Do + Shape the roadmap and own delivery for ML and economics products powering pricing, inventory, or profitability decisions. + Translate model outputs into production-grade signals used across marketing, sort, supplier negotiations, and pricing. + Define product requirements and collaborate with science and engineering to deliver scalable solutions. + Bridge business and technical teams to drive adoption and ensure solutions meet operational needs. + Use data and structured analysis to break down problems, test hypotheses, and inform product decisions. + Communicate decisions, tradeoffs, and outcomes to a broad set of stakeholders. + Set and track success metrics to guide ongoing iteration. We’re A Match Because You Have + Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, Engineering). + 3+ years of experience in product management, data science, or analytics, preferably involving machine learning/AI or large-scale data systems. + Experience defining product requirements and collaborating with technical and business partners to deliver impactful solutions. + Comfort breaking down ambiguous problems using data, hypotheses, and structured problem solving. + Ability to partner with engineering and data science teams to scope, implement, and iterate on algorithmic or data-powered products. + Ability to define KPIs and interpret experimental or observational results + Effective at translating technical concepts and influencing cross-functional stakeholders, including non-technical audiences.
