Your Role

 

As a Data Scientist at MilliporeSigma - hybrid in St. Louis, MO  or Burlington,MA,   you will support our Data Science and Analytics team with insights from internal and external data, as well use large data sets to find opportunities for product and process optimization and use models to test effectiveness of different courses of action. You will support our data analysts and other data scientists on initiatives and will ensure optimal data delivery architecture and consistency throughout ongoing projects.

Use statistical and machine learning techniques to lead the analysis of key strategic issues and develop recommendations to accelerate bottom and top-line growth.Produce innovative solutions driven by exploratory data analysis from complex and high-dimensional datasets.Apply knowledge of statistics, machine learning, programming, data modeling, simulation, and advanced mathematics to recognize patterns, identify opportunities, pose business questions, and make valuable discoveries leading to prototype development and product improvement.Use a flexible, analytical approach to design, develop, and evaluate predictive models and advanced algorithms that lead to optimal value extraction from the data.Optimize model performance through analytics, research and experimental design.Generate and test hypotheses and analyze and interpret the results of product experiments.Leverage data across our internal and external sources to identify the most meaningful factors and translate them into acquisition models, upsell models, and other predictive algorithms.Work with product engineers to translate prototypes into new products, services, and features and provide guidelines for large-scale implementation.

 

Who You Are

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Applied Math, Data Science, or other technical discipline2+ years of experience with ETL, data processing, database programming and data analytics2+ years of experience with multiple programming skills such as Java, C/C++, Scala, Python, and/or R2+ years of experience with databases and big data processing (SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Spark, Flink, etc)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Applied Math, Data Science, or other technical disciplineExperience in Life Science or Pharma industry Strong analytic skills related to working with structured and unstructured datasetsExperience with Digital Analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics or Google AnalyticsExperience with reporting and Data Visualization tools such as Tableau or Google Data StudioSkilled in working with algorithms and machine learning methods: Algorithms and Models: Regressions models, Hidden Markov models, Support Vector Machines, Dimensionality Reduction algorithms, Ensemble algorithms, Decision Trees, ClusteringAbility to conduct complex, important work independentlyHighly skilled in developing data pipelining solutions and architecting cloud data
