Responsibilities
Our client is seeking a skilled Data Scientist/Cloud Developer to design, develop, and deploy secure, maintainable, and reliable software within a cloud infrastructure supporting mission-critical operations. This role involves full-spectrum analytic technical support, from requirements gathering to the deployment of analytic products, to support intelligence and mission operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop analytic solutions tailored to user requirements while ensuring the security and reliability of sensitive data and models.
Design, develop, and deploy cloud-based software solutions, including executable functions (e.g., AWS Lambda or Azure Functions) that support mission-critical operationsProvide full-spectrum analytic support, including requirements collection, environment configuration, exploratory data analysis, model development, and results communicationCollaborate with cross-functional teams to identify relevant data sources, access infrastructure, and develop tailored analytic productsUtilize containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes to enhance software deployment and managementEngage in Agile development practices, leveraging tools like Jira to manage project tasks and workflowsCommunicate complex technical concepts and results to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding and alignment with mission objectivesForecast and outline technical tasks to guide weekly development efforts, ensuring project milestones are metContribute to the continuous improvement of technical architecture and development approachesRequirements
At least 4 years of STEM-related work experience with a bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, or 2 years of relevant work experience with a STEM master’s degree4+ years of experience in cloud development, with a focus on one of the major cloud platforms (AWS preferred)Proven experience with containerization technologies like Docker and KubernetesHands-on experience in object-oriented programming with a language such as C++, Java, or Python (Python preferred)Experience with Agile development methodologies and related tools, such as JirPreferred Requirements
Familiarity and experience with the Intelligence Community (IC) and the intelligence cycleFamiliarity and experience with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)A demonstrated ability and eagerness to learn new technologies and methodologiesEducation/Certification Requirements
