Position Summary
Thales requires a Co-Op student for the role of Data Scientist. As a Data Scientist, you will be involved in the data analytics and general data governance in support of innovation projects that contribute to naval platforms in-service support programs. As part of the Innovation Team, the you will help deliver value to the operational team quickly in an agile and incremental way. More specifically, you will work with business analysts and operational stakeholders to identify problems and find relevant data solutions. The type of solutions could range from implementing data pipelines, building domain-specific data schemas, building machine learning models, implement dashboards that help with decision making – while using modern development techniques and technologies.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Support data initiatives such as Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) of complex assets.Contribute to data governance initiative such as data landscape.Develop ETL/ELT pipelines.Develop data mappings and lineage.Develop data quality rules.Create AI models based on available data.Minimum Qualifications
3rd or 4th year undergraduate student in software engineering, computer science or related field.Proven experience with data science techniques and toolsets such as Argo, dbt, Nifi, Jupyter Notebook.Experience with data modeling techniques and languages.Experience with scripting technologies such as Python, R.Knowledge of agile software engineering methodologies.Why Join Us?
