Data Scientist/Developer
DATA DEVELOPER/SCIENCE Any valid US work authorization is OK. The position is onsite 5x weekly in GAITHERSBURG IF INTERESTED REACH OUT DIRECTLY TO KSPICER@ALTAITS.COM VERY VERY IMPORTANT *** This is not your typical Data Scientist/DEVELOPER. This resource must have very strong programming skills (programming using C/C++, java, Python, Go and Pandas.), and will rarely be creating dashboards, doing BI, or ML. We need someone who has worked for a telecom company because the project is heavily involving network communications. Working in academia, pharma, banking, healthcare or retail will not be applicable to this position. This project is supporting our OneWeb– which is a constellation of LEO satellites. LEO satellites are low-orbiting satellites which provide faster and better internet reception for people relying on satellites for their in-home and in-businesses internet. REQUIRES that we find someone who has worked on network platforms. People who have worked for managed services, cable companies, satcom companies, phone companies, etc. This resource will have strong programming skills and will have worked for a telecommunications company before. What will make this person successful is their ability to convey the analysis of their data in layman’s terms to business executives. They will need to give presentations with confidence and clarity, using excellent command of English language. The project is working on the OneWeb project, which are a constellation of low-orbiting satellites. Responsibilities: Provide technical leadership and identify solution for complex problem. Must be able to understand how to design and build a deployable application that uses any ML model that they design and recommend Recommend, track, and report on the business goals and the resulting technical goals, projects, and technical tasks. Perform proof of concepts, identify initial data wrangling, and then provide guidance for development of the productionized version of the capabilities. Analyze data and build predictive models based on stakeholder input. Basic Requirements: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Science or related technical field 10+ years of technical experience doing data science in a Telecommunications company 5+ years of experience performing data science and programming 5+ years of experience using AWS Cloud technology 5+ years of experience programming using C/C++, java, Python, Go and Pandas. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in data science Knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL , snowflake and BigQuery. Must have strong DS design knowledge and has experience in some ML/Ops/DevOps Knowledge of building machine learning models using Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, Keras, or other open-source libraries. Knowledge of data visualization tools and libraries in Python/R (Shiny preferably) Or Tableau. Knowledge and experience in leading analysis efforts for large operational networks . Ability to break down and understand complex business problems, define a solution and implement it using advanced quantitative methods. Identify innovative solutions that apply data science, AI/ML technology to the problem so that a development team can then take that and build an application that leverages the DS approaches.
