Data Scientist - Group Director
Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Data Scientist - Group Director in New York. This role is pivotal in our team, with the primary focus on overseeing and nurturing the team of data scientists, data engineers, and data analysts. In addition, this role will involve direct data processing, statistical analysis, data modeling, and data governance tasks. Responsibilities: • Lead a team of data scientists, data engineers, and data analysts, fostering a positive and performance-driven culture • Oversee data processing, cleansing, and handling of raw data to generate large, structured datasets for analysis and modeling • Direct and conduct statistical analyses on both macro and micro levels • Execute ad-hoc “what if scenarios” and simulations based on models and evaluate media plans • Oversee the production of reporting, data visualization, and presentation building • Collaborate with internal teams across Business Intelligence, Buying, Planning, and Digital Investment to deliver integrated client deliverables • Drive research and development initiatives using algorithmic modeling, deriving new features, and providing training and support to power users • Employ critical thinking in identifying issues, solving problems, and improving processes • Translate business problems into mathematical expressions and equations • Ensure timely project delivery, producing analyses and content that is clean, organized, easy to understand • Present data and analyses in a compelling way to internal stakeholders and clients, ensuring their satisfaction • Support new business initiatives at the agency level, expand the Advanced Analytics client portfolio and upsell services to existing clients. Requirements • Position requires a minimum of 7 years of experience in a Data Science role. • Proficiency in data science and related tools including but not limited to SQL, Python, C++, and R Programming. • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Domo, and Power BI is necessary. • Familiarity with cloud platforms like Snowflake, Google Cloud Platform, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) is essential. • Strong background in data analytics, data processing, and data cleansing. • Ability to work with different types of data, including raw and structured data. • Expertise in data modeling and data governance is required. • Knowledge of SAS and data architecture would be beneficial. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is expected. • Experience in strategy management would be a significant advantage.
