Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$64,500 - $182,600

What Will You Be Doing:

As a Data Scientist within LVA, you will help shape data-driven strategies that influence payer negotiations, market access initiatives, and revenue leakage prevention. Your expertise in analytics will drive insights that enhance decision-making, improve patient outcomes, and safeguard financial sustainability. This role is a unique opportunity to leverage cutting-edge data science methodologies in a highly impactful environment.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze large healthcare datasets, including insurance claims, electronic health records (EHRs), and diagnostics, to improve patient access.

Design and implement models to forecast market trends, improve patient adherence, characterize payer behavior, and identify revenue risk areas.

Collaborate cross-functionally with Market Access, Finance, Health Outcomes, and IT teams to integrate data science into strategic decision-making.

Communicate complex modeling concepts clearly and concisely to business leaders.

Maintain deep domain knowledge and be fully engaged with teams, bringing an objective voice to the table, and facilitating decisions grounded in analytics.

Collaborate with other analytics team members to review and provide feedback on the analytics work being done and be willing to seek feedback from other team members about your own work.

Stay current on emerging data science techniques and healthcare industry trends and champion innovation.

Basic Qualifications

M.S. or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or closely related field OR B.S. in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or closely related field with at least 3+ years of related working experience.

Deep and broad knowledge and hands on experience developing machine learning (ML) algorithms, statistical analysis and tools used.

Experience with Advanced Analytics, AI/ML in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).

Strong proficiency with relevant programming languages (such as R, Python, Scala, SQL, C++, etc...)

Additional Skills/Preferences

Experience with healthcare data including payer claims and rebates.

Publications in leading journals or conferences.

Advanced knowledge of machine learning methods in processing unstructured data.

Experience with end-to-end model deployment.

Experience with CI/CD, Jenkins, Sagemaker, Github and Automation platforms.

Experience in deep learning frameworks.

Ability to communicate with diverse group of business and technical subject matter experts.

Agility and flexibility to work with very diverse problems and business partners.

Ability to work with diverse data sources and data types.

Self-management skills with a focus on results for timely and accurate completion of competing deliverables.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
