Data Scientist ll

Do you have an eye for detail and a passion for developing innovation solutions? Join our team! As a Data Scientist II at SNC, your fundamental responsibility will be to derive value out of data. You will use your mathematical skills to develop and implement advanced models of physical systems to derive mission critical information. You will process, cleanse, and validate the data integrity of that data and enhance it where required using third party data sources and other techniques.

The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain algorithms/modelsWork closely with analyst and customer engagement teams to improve internal algorithmsAnalyze algorithm output errors and advise leadership on recommended improvementsWork closely with software engineering team to deploy and maintain production algorithms

Qualifications You Must Have:

Bachelor's Degree in a related field with at least 3+ years of relevant experienceHigher education may substitute for relevant experienceRelevant experience may be considered in lieu of required educationData-oriented personalityApplied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.Understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithmsProficiency in programming languages such as Python, and experience with NLP libraries and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers).Hands-on experience with large language modelsExperience of NLP fundamental concepts and models, such as language modeling, word embeddings, topic modeling, text categorization, information extraction, natural language understanding, transfer learningThe ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Qualifications We Prefer:

Expertise in Python and SQLUnderstanding of mathematical modelingUnderstanding of numerical analysis and computation algorithm developmentFamiliarity with visualization libraries such as Matplotlib, ggplot, etcFamiliarity with software development and software development life cycle best practicesUnderstanding and experience in applying ML algorithms, such as Logistic Regression, Decision Trees, SVM, Naive Bayes, kNN, Random Forests, Dimensionality Reduction Algorithms, K-means clustering, etc

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
