Join our Application Engineering team as a Data Scientist for our Data Analytics software.

We are looking for a Data Scientist (x|f|m for our Application Engineering team at Sartorius. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical guidance, training for customers as well as consult customers on various projects and working closely with our Sales team and Application Specialists for our Data Analytics Umetrics® software within pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturing.

The team consists of 7 professionals across Europe and Asia, and we are looking forward to shaping the future with you.  

This position is available full time. The position can be home based or in our Tokyo office Sartorius has a facility with up to 30% of travel required to customers sites.

Grow with us – Your Responsibilities  

On a daily basis you will act as a subject matter expert and supporting customers and internal data analytics projects

Provide consulting and training to customers to enable them to solve business related problems using advanced data analytics

Support implementation of advanced data analytics for industrial processes

Analyze data and build data – driven models using Umetrics®  Suite of software python/ Umetrics®  Studio

Coordinate work with data scientists and business colleagues in other regions for accounts with a global presence

Creation of whitepapers, technical documents, application notes and reports

Attend and present at conferences, seminars and forums

Build strong relationships with external and internal stakeholders

You will be a key member of a talented, international team of data scientists

Support the sales organization on existing products through product presentations, demonstrations and application studies

What will convince us 

Qualification & Skills:

Minimum

Bachelors degree in a relevant field.Experience of applied data analytics methods, in anyone of the following topics, Multivariate Data Analysis (MVDA), Design of Experiments (DOE), Machine Learning (ML), PAT or QbD Interest in customer facing roleNative spoken and written JapaneseIntermediate level spoken and written English (e.g. TOEIC 600 and above)Effective communication, organizational and presentation skills

Ideal:

Work experience in Biopharmaceutical, Pharmaceutical or Bioprocessing environmentExperience in training, consulting or project management skills

Experience with Umetrics software (MODDE®, SIMCA®, SIMCA®– online) would be desirable

Working knowledge of Python scripting is desirable

Knowledge of data historians, MES and LIMS systems is desirable

Willingness to travel

In order to commence working with us, the successful candidate will have the right to work in Japan.
