Job Description
The Data Solutions Architect is responsible for architecting enterprise-grade data solutions and implementing governance strategies that ensure scalability, reliability, and security. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, AI/ML engineers, and leadership, to design and deliver solutions that address complex data challenges.
ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with stakeholders to identify and translate business requirements into use cases, requirements, and technical specificationsDesign and guide the implementation of enterprise data architectures that include a federated data access fabric, an application services fabric, and a visualization and analysis fabricDesign and develop data governance policies, ensuring compliance with industry standards, government standards, and best practicesDevelop data models that best address the needs of multiple customer requirementsCreate and support data documentation, including data dictionaries and data flow diagramsDevelop and support data management processes and procedures to ensure data quality and integrityEvaluate and recommend tools and technologies for data storage, processing, and analyticsProvide leadership and oversight to data engineering and AI/ML engineering activitiesProvide tactical guidance on data modeling, quality, and metadata managementEssential SkillsBachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related STEM field8+ years of experience in data architecture, data governance, data integration, and data modelingStrong understanding of solution architecting and mapping business use cases to data storage, processing, visualization, and analysis technologiesStrong understanding of relational and non-relational databasesProficiency in data modeling and metadata managementStrong understanding of ontologies, taxonomies, and federated access technologiesStrong understanding of data security and compliance requirementsExcellent communication, presentation, and leadership skillsAbility to demonstrate accountability for ensuring the business and technical architecture of the delivered solution matches customer technical and functional requirementsExperience with classified and controlled unclassified data sources and querying functionalitiesEligible to receive a Secret/Top Secret clearance in a DoD environmentAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience architecting federated systemsExperience with data governance policies and best practicesSolution architecting and mapping business use casesExperience in enterprise architecture designWork Environment
This position requires onsite work in Rockville, MD, following a 3-2-1 policy: 3 days onsite, with 2 of those days being Tuesday and Wednesday, and 1 day of your choosing.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $64.00 - $84.50/hr.
