Data Steward/Data Analyst Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Data Custodian / Data Analyst to manage our extensive metadata catalog of Real-World Data (RWD) assets. The Data Custodian will ensure the seamless acquisition, ingestion, cataloging, and publication of these assets while maintaining their readiness for research. In collaboration with Data Stewards, Data Engineers, and subject matter experts (SMEs), this role ensures that all data assets meet quality standards, are well-documented, and are aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Metadata Management: Oversee the creation, maintenance, and management of a comprehensive metadata catalog for all RWD assets, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and discoverability.

Data Acquisition & Ingestion: Collaborate with Data Engineers and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the timely and accurate ingestion of new datasets into the organization's data platforms.

Data Cataloguing & Publication: Facilitate the proper classification and documentation of data assets to ensure that they are easily accessible and understandable by end users, while adhering to compliance and regulatory requirements.

Data Quality: Work closely with the Data Steward and Data SMEs to define and apply appropriate data quality models, ensuring that data assets are fit-for-research and free from significant issues.

Issue Management: Handle data management issue reports, troubleshooting problems, and coordinating with relevant teams to ensure data accuracy and integrity.

Fit-for-Research Status: Maintain the integrity of data assets by ensuring that they remain suitable for research purposes through continuous monitoring and quality checks.

Collaboration with Stakeholders: Coordinate with various business teams, IT departments, and external partners to ensure data processes align with both technical and business needs.

Support Data Governance Initiatives: Assist in the establishment and enforcement of data governance practices, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience will be considered.

Experience:

2-4 years of experience as IT Product Analyst in data and metadata management, or a similar role.

Experience working with large datasets, particularly in the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector, is a plus.

Familiarity with Real-World Data (RWD) and associated regulatory requirements is advantageous.

Skills:

Strong understanding of data cataloging, metadata management, and data lifecycle management.

Familiarity with data quality models, frameworks, and tools.

Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.

Effective communication skills for collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Proficiency in data governance and issue management processes.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.

Fluent English

Desired Additional Experience:

Familiarity with tools like Colibra or similar data governance platforms.

Experience working in cross-functional teams within large enterprises, particularly in highly regulated industries.

Knowledge of cloud-based data management systems and Real-World Data exchange platforms.
