Data Strategy Specialist

The incumbent will develop and maintain a data catalog to provide a centralized repository of metadata and will implement data marking and tagging strategies. The Specialist will design, enforce and contribute to Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies to ensure consistent data management practices across the organization. The specialist collaborates with Data Stewards to ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance, facilitating communication between data owners and users to align data management practices with business objectives. The incumbent will provide training and support to staff on data governance tools and best practices, as well as monitoring data governance activities and generating reports to track compliance, data quality, and the effectiveness of data management strategies, are also essential aspects of the role. **Responsibilities** + Oversees comprehensive data governance and compliance across the organization. + Develops, implements and maintains a comprehensive data catalog; ensures accurate and up-to-date metadata for all assets; facilitates data discovery and accessibility for business infrastructure and applications. + Designs and implements a robust data marking and tagging strategy to classify and organize data assets; collaborates with data stewards and business unites to ensure consistent application of tags and labels; monitors and refines tagging processes to enhance data governance and alignment with corporate data governance strategy. + Develops, enforces and contributes to DLP policies to protect sensitive data; monitors data activities and implements measures to prevent unauthorized access to data breaches; conducts regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with DLP policies. + Works closely with the compliance team to ensure data practices align with regulatory requirements and company policies; implements and monitors controls to enforce data governance and compliance. + Monitors and manages Purview platform performance and availability; troubleshoots and resolves issues related to data cataloging, tagging, and DLP; generates reports and dashboards to track data governance metrics and compliance status. + Develops and provides training and support to staff on data governance tools and best practices. **Key Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology; eight years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and or experience in a related field. + Demonstrated experience with data governance tools; understanding of data governance principles and best practices. + Experience with data cataloging, metadata management, and data classification. + Knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, Export Controlled). + Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. + Strong communication and collaboration abilities. **Preferred Qualifications** + Experience with cloud platforms; familiarity with data security and DLP technologies. **Benefits: Live an Extraordinary Life** We care about your well-being, not just on the job.
