The State Street Middleware Data Transport Team supports multiple Managed File Transfer (MFT) products across the Bank. We are seeking a highly skilled MFT expert to design, implement, and optimize secure, scalable, and resilient file transfer solutions within hybrid and multi-cloud environments. This role requires deep expertise in Managed File Transfer (MFT) technologies, automation, cloud security, and DevOps best practices. The ideal candidate will drive the modernization, automation, and governance of file transfer workflows, ensuring compliance, performance, and operational efficiency.
The position requires effective communication and technical skills with a willingness to learn and implement best-in-class tools and strategies. The candidate must be willing to design and implement solutions, work on new technology projects and improve the current Data Transport application stack.

As Data Transport Infrastructure Operations Engineer, you will
Design and implement highly available, scalable, and secure MFT solution across AWS, Azure, and hybrid environmentsManage and optimize enterprise MFT platforms (Axway B2Bi, IBM Connect Direct) and provide Level 3 support for business-critical workflowsImplement observability & logging using Splunk, Dynatrace, GrafanaProvide technical leadership, best practices, and knowledge sharing for Operational teamEffectively participate in ITIL processes including Incident, Problem, Change, Capacity managementServe as a client liaison and a point of escalation for internal and external customersWork with the engineering team on continuous service improvement focusing on automation and service standardizationInitiate and manage vulnerability remediation, patching, upgrades, and hardware life cycle to ensure we remain current with technology solutions and meet client needs.What we value

8+ years of experience in Managed File Transfer (MFT) administration, automation, and Cloud integrationDeep understanding of secure file transfer protocols (SFTP/FTPS/HTTPS/SSH/CD)Hands-on experience with Managed File Transfer platforms such as Axway B2Bi, Interchange, Sentinel, IBM-Connect Direct or other MFT platforms and in-house File Transfer solutionsExperience on SSL certificates renewals, PGP encryption/decryption process and authentication procedure in Connect Direct via Secure+Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform)Good to have exposure on Premier DataOne products like Spazio, MFX and IBM Control Centre, IBM Sterling Secure ProxyExperience with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)Experience on Autosys jobs schedulerExperience with Linux/Windows Operating systemsEducation & Preferred Qualifications
BS in Computer Science or equivalentCloud certifications (AWS, Azure)Experience migrating on-prem MFT to Cloud-based solutionsAdditional requirements
Excellent analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skillsAbility to multitask, manage high-priority initiatives and coordinate the activities with Service Delivery and Engineering teams to completion.Ability to work in a team setting with a diverse group: operations support resources, SSC client services representatives, application and service delivery teams.Why this role is important to us
