We are seeking self-starters who are highly motivated, efficient, professional, communicative and able to contribute to the team on day one. Data Warehouse Developers performs analysis, design, code, and testing of moderate to extremely complex data extraction routines and report development. Supports the Medicaid data warehouse systems, works on multiple assignments concurrently, and completes work in queue by aggressive due dates. Uses a range of expert technical skills based on a keen knowledge of data warehouse and must be highly proficient with Oracle SQL. Helps identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities. Regularly peer reviews the work of others and frequently mentors others.
Specific responsibilities include:
SPECIFIC DUTIES:Creates data models and designs to meet specific business needsAbility to determine appropriate sourcing and storage of data from multiple source systemsUnderstands and is able to translate business requirements into Data Warehouse solutionsCodes Oracle ETL scripts that will extract data from an operational database and populate the staging and target data warehouse schemasDocuments code and processes for distribution to all interested partiesDocuments design using industry standards including ERWIN diagrammingProvides query writing support and tuning expertise to analysts and end usersDevelops shell scripts for production job automationIs able to work in a 24x7 environment which requires on-call rotationQUALIFICATIONS:5+ years of experience in database architecture and development including analyzing, designing, documenting, coding, testing and implementing primarily SQL codeThorough knowledge of data warehouse principles and techniques, specifically dimensional data architecture modelingExceptional Oracle SQL skills and PL/SQL skillsHands on experience with set based operations, analytic functions and query hintsCommand of data warehouse modeling concepts is requiredStrong Erwin ERD modelingProficiency with Linux and shell scriptingExperience working with a large, multi-terabyte data warehousePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:BS in Computer Science or related degree, or equivalent experienceMedicaid or other healthcare or claims processing experienceAWS (Cloud) experienceInformatica ETL experience.
