MAU is hiring a Database Administration and Service Specialist for our client in Greer, SC. As a Database Administration and Service Specialist you will provide operational and project support for a range of company database technologies across the Americas region. Additionally, it serves as the operational and product lead for global database products, platforms, and tools. This is a contract, long-term opportunity.
Benefits Package Major Medical Coverage, including dental and vision 401k with Employer Matching Term life Short-term disability Accidental loss Uniform allowance Paid time off Paid holidays Market leading pay Opportunity for advancement Long-term assignment with opportunity for hire by client Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Information Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and 4 years of professional experience in database technologies 4+ years of experience in information technology, with a focus on database operations, program development technologies, and database architecture 3+ years of experience supporting database systems, with proficiency in SQL Server preferred 3+ years of experience delivering database services in complex environments, demonstrating a strong customer focus across multiple or large-scale deployments 3+ years of experience in database platform activities, including security, systems analysis, change control, maintenance, and support 3+ years of experience in organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills 3+ years of experience supporting database systems on both Windows and Linux operating systems 3+ years of experience in database support and programming Experience working in a global, distributed enterprise IT environment General Requirements Familiarity with ITIL service management processes Strong understanding of enterprise operations strategies and protocols Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across different skill sets, personalities, work styles, and motivation levels Proven ability to gather input from diverse perspectives, facilitate discussions, and drive consensus toward optimal solutions Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust, foster relationships, and promote collaboration Intermediate knowledge and experience in project management Essential Functions Support the Database Infrastructure Manager for the Americas by administering critical database functions Provide operational and project consulting for systems requiring database infrastructure solutions Take ownership of operational and product responsibilities across various company database platforms Ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of database services to meet business needs Manage database infrastructure by maintaining optimal patch levels for systems, tools, and hardware Assist in planning and executing database hardware migrations and replacements Develop and maintain detailed documentation for existing database products and solutions, offering recommendations for improvements or replacements Advise development teams on database strategies, best practices, and optimization techniques Implement and uphold database security measures in accordance with company standards and compliance policies Identify, troubleshoot, and escalate database platform issues as needed Prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively, adapting to evolving business demands Perform additional duties as assigned by the operations supervisor
