Soft Tech Consulting is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual to fill the role of a Database Administrator for one of our clients.  The designated candidate for this position will join a collaborative team environment, providing support and expertise necessary toward the successful delivery of the project deliverables, and provide effective communication to all levels of staff for reporting status/progress. The place of performance for this contract is in Washington, DC.

WORK TO BE PERFORMED ON-SITE (REMOTE WORK POSSIBLE)

Responsibilities Extensive experience administering Oracle RAC production databases running Oracle 11gR2 or higher on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) including the design, provisioning, and maintenance of the databases.Experience configuring Oracle databases to meet federal security guidelines.Significant experience working with and debugging Oracle PL/SQL.Extensive experience identifying and resolving performance or availability issues in Oracle databases.Extensive experience with database backup/recovery tools and techniques, such as Oracle RMAN and Flashback.Extensive experience administering multi-site Oracle RAC database implementations using Oracle Data Guard.Experience providing guidance and support to application developers in the creation and deployment of DML or DDL scripts in support of application maintenance or deployment.Extensive experience performing maintenance and upgrades for Oracle RAC database implementation.In-depth, hands-on experience in installing and configuring Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).Able to drill down in OEM to identify any performance issues. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in any related fieldMinimum of 8 years of work experience. Extensive experience administering Oracle RAC production databases running Oracle 19c or higher on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) including the design, provisioning, and maintenance of the databases.Experience configuring Oracle databases to meet federal security guidelines. Significant experience working with and debugging Oracle PL/SQL.Extensive experience identifying and resolving performance or availability issues in Oracle databases.Extensive experience performing Oracle RAC patching and upgrades. Extensive experience with database backup/recovery tools and techniques, such as Oracle RMAN and Flashback.Extensive experience administering multi-site Oracle RAC database implementations using Oracle Data Guard.Experience providing guidance and support to application developers in the creation and deployment of DML or DDL scripts in support of application maintenance or deployment.Extensive experience performing maintenance and upgrades for Oracle RAC database implementation.In-depth hands-on experience in installing and configuring Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).Able to drill down in OEM to identify any performance issues.Must be able to communicate effectively both verbal and written.Must be able to work independently, with minimal oversight.
