Job Summary:
DT Professional Services is seeking a mid-level Database Administrator to join the Electronic Warfare (EW) team on-site at Point Mugu, CA! This position will work on the Electronic Warfare Data Systems (EWDS) Team, supporting the Electronic Warfare systems for many of the U.S. Navy air platforms including EA-18G, MH-60R, and E-2C/D. 

The Database Administrator will work with the various EWDS teams on and off of NAS Point Mugu in their efforts to both enhance and maintain legacy systems while simultaneously migrating those same capabilities into more modernized and networked database architectures and environments. This will entail work with both the Database teams directly as well as multiple Software development teams in the development and deployment of mission planning and other related support software from both internal government teams as well as third party vendors. You must have an active DoD issued Top Secret Security Clearance to be considered for this role.

Responsibilities:Meet weekly with developmental teams in support of Fleet Software and Hardware improvement and sustainment effortsGain an understanding of the capabilities and limitations of both the different Databases and interrelated software programs of the various Naval Air platform systems and subsystemsDevelop and implement efficient strategies on migrating existing MS SQL Databases to PostgreSQL environments, specifically for application within cloud based (AWS/AZURE/GCP) environmentsWork with the development and maintenance teams in designing requirements within an AGILE environment to meet both Support Lab needsWork with Fleet Help Desk support team to define and integrate emergent Fleet needs with the scheduled tasking of the labsSupport design and testing of database partitioning and Schema options to improve on efficiencies of data handling in terms of import, processing, storage, and exportTroubleshooting and resolving database integrity, performance, blocking/deadlocking, connectivity and security issues between asynchronous connection servers, nodes, and potentially austere forward edge computersDevelop and maintain database documentation, including but not limited to System Security Plan, Data Dictionary, Backup Procedures, Job Queue Monitoring, etc.Perform all of the above within both existing and developing DevSecOps pipelinesBasic Qualifications:Must posses a DoD issued TS/SCI Security ClearanceAbility to work on-site at Point Mugu, CA3 - 8+ years experience of direct industry experience in database administration or data engineeringBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering & 3-5 years relevant experience OR 8+ years industry experience with certifications in lieu of degreeExpertise with SQL and direct PostgreSQLPreferred Qualifications:SAFe-AGILE experiencePrevious work with U.S. Navy or Marine Corps Intelligence organizations, specifically the ELINT (Electronic Intelligence) in operational or tactical support rolesBaseline knowledge in PostgreSQL – especially as pertaining to asynchronous updating of large datasetsExperience optimizing large and complex datasets for presentation to both humans and machines for analysisIntegration of AI/ML programs with large and complex datasets to develop and apply resulting data modelsThe compensation range for this position: $110,000 - $160,000 annually.
