The Baird IT Operations team is looking for an energetic individual that enjoys problem-solving and making a difference as we deliver excellent service today and leverage Cloud and Next-Generation database technologies going forward. As a Database Administrator, you will:

Investigate and learn new and emerging database technologies (e.g. Azure data technologies) with an eye to selecting and implementing the right solution for project teams and the business.Build, configure, and administer new database servers, databases, objects, and ETL as required to support the business.Monitor current databases and database servers for performance, stability, and scalability.Develop and implement improvement plans for performance and standardsCommunicates and collaborates with project delivery teams to ensure implementation of best practices and continuous improvement.Mentor delivery teams on best practicesAbility to work in a 24x7 support environment, participate in an on-call rotation, and have experience responding to client needs as raised in Service Desk tickets.

What we look for:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field preferred, or combination of experience and education.Minimum of two years experience in a technical role with Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, SQL Reporting Services.Demonstrates experience with and interest in Cloud and next-Generation data technologies (e.g. Azure Data Services, PowerBI, Alteryx, SSAS Tabular, etc.).Demonstrates working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.Demonstrates working knowledge of T-SQL and Powershell.Demonstrate ability to develop, communicate and train on best practices.Automation mind-setExperience with industry-standard, third-party management tools is strongly desired.Ability to communicate and work effectively in a team environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects
