ATI Physical Therapy
**Overview**
The Database Administrator will manage and maintain ATI databases primarily SQL Server to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability. The role emphasizes proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and collaborating with development teams to implement and optimize database solutions. This position requires a mix of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to database reliability and efficiency.
**Responsibilities**
Database Administration:
* Manage, configure, and maintain SQL databases to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
* Perform routine database maintenance tasks, including backups, indexing, and optimization.
* Ensure database security by managing user roles, permissions, and compliance with data privacy standards.
Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
* Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, minimizing downtime and impact.
* Investigate slow-running queries and identify root causes of performance issues.
Backup and Recovery Management:
* Develop, implement, and test disaster recovery and high availability strategies.
* Ensure regular backups are completed successfully and can be restored as needed.
Collaboration and Documentation:
* Work closely with application development teams to align database needs with project goals.
* Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and best practices.
Compliance and Risk Management:
* Ensure databases comply with regulatory and organizational standards.
* Identify and mitigate potential risks related to data integrity and security.
Documentation and Reporting:
* Maintain comprehensive documentation, including process and support documentation.
* Timely and consistent updates in the ITSM (ServiceNow) Incident and Change tracking system.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Education**
**Required:**
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field; or equivalent industry experience. Experience with performance tuning and query optimization.

**Minimum Experience**
**Required:**
* 3–5 years of experience in database administration, with a focus on SQL Server.
**Preferred:**
* Familiarity with cloud database solutions (e.g., Azure SQL, Cosmos DB).
* Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps environments.
* Experience with Cohesity’s SQL Backup Solution
**Knowledge Skills and Abilities**
* Proficiency in SQL Server management and database performance tuning.
* Familiarity with database monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Redgate, or native SQL monitoring).
* Strong knowledge of database security and compliance practices.
* Experience with automation using scripting languages such as PowerShell.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with a customer-oriented mindset.
**Licenses and Certifications**
**Required:**
* None
**Preferred:**
* Advanced certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate.
