**Job Summary** The highly skilled Database Administrator (DBA) will manage, maintain, optimize and support the database systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring database availability, performance, security, and integrity across multiple platforms. Key Responsibilities: + Database Administration: Manage and maintain enterprise-level SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL databases, ensuring high availability and optimal performance. + Performance Optimization: Diagnose and resolve database performance issues, optimize queries, indexes, and storage structures. + Backup & Recovery: Develop and implement disaster recovery and backup strategies, ensuring data integrity and business continuity. + Security & Compliance: Enforce security best practices, role-based access control, and compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2, or other industry regulations. + Cloud & Hybrid Database Management: Manage cloud-based and hybrid database solutions in Azure and AWS + Automation & Scripting: Develop automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, or Bash to streamline administrative tasks. + Database Upgrades & Migrations: Lead database version upgrades, migrations, and system integrations with minimal downtime. + Collaboration & Support: Work closely with developers, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to optimize database-dependent applications. + Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Utilize monitoring to proactively address performance and potential user impacting issues. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, creative problem solver. The role is responsible for supporting the platform and methodologies of Database Sysems including some hands on problem solving The position is customer service oriented. The engineer thrives on working in a fast paced, growing environment, while working well with others and participating as a team player. **Qualifications** + Minimum Experience required: 5+ years of experience in database administration with SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL **Preferred Certifications** + Microsoft Certified: MS SQL Server (latest) + Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate + AWS Certified Database - Specialty + Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) - Database Administrator + PostgreSQL Certified DBA **Required Skills** + Databases: SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL + Cloud Platforms: Azure, AWS + Automation & Scripting: PowerShell, Python + Monitoring & Performance Tools: SolarWinds, SQL Monitoring Tools + Security & Compliance: Role-based access control, GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2 compliance + Experience with cloud database services (Azure SQL, AWS RDS). + Expertise in database replication, clustering, and high availability solutions + Proficiency in T-SQL, PL/SQL, or PostgreSQL procedural languages for writing and optimizing complex queries. + Hands-on experience with database security, encryption, and user access control. + Knowledge of ETL tools (SSIS, Talend, Informatica) and data warehousing best practices. + Familiarity with NoSQL technologies (MongoDB) is a plus. + Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot performance issues in large-scale environments. + Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in agile or DevOps environments. Flexibility with Schedule – Must be prepared to be in an On Call Rotation/After hours support including weekends required.
