Responsibilities:
Junior-level:
Administers and maintains database systems
Conducts database testing and implement new databases
Coordinates changes to existing database structures
Assists in planning and implementing security measures to safeguard databases
Collaborates with team members on database projects and improvements
Stays current with emerging database technologies and best practices
Intermediate:
Administer, test, and implement complex database systems
Design and execute database structures, tables, and indexes
Coordinate and manage changes to existing databases
Plan, coordinate, and implement robust security measures to protect database integrity
Monitor database performance and optimize as necessary
Develop and maintain database documentation
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on database-related projects
Stay current with emerging database technologies and industry best practices
Senior:
Administer, test, and implement complex database systems for enterprise-level applications
Design and optimize database structures, tables, and indexes to meet performance requirements
Coordinate and execute major changes to existing databases, including upgrades and migrations
Plan, coordinate, and implement comprehensive security measures to protect database integrity and sensitive information
Monitor and tune database performance to ensure optimal efficiency and availability
Develop and maintain database documentation, including standard operating procedures and disaster recovery plans
Mentor junior database administrators and provide technical leadership on database projects
Stay current with emerging database technologies and implement best practices
Subject Matter Expert/SME:
Serve as the principal technical authority on database administration and architecture
Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of complex, enterprise-scale database solutions
Provide expert guidance on database changes, migrations, and upgrades across diverse platforms
Develop and oversee implementation of cutting-edge security measures to protect critical data assets
Conduct advanced performance tuning and capacity planning for high-volume, mission-critical databases
Spearhead research and adoption of emerging database technologies and best practices
Collaborate with executive leadership to align database strategies with organizational objectives
Mentor and elevate the expertise of database administration teams
Represent CACI as a thought leader at industry conferences and technical forums
Qualifications:
Required:
Junior:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
0-3 years of experience in database administration or related role
US Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance, if needed
Knowledge of database management systems
Basic understanding of database security principles
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
Intermediate:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
3 to 8 years of experience in database administration
US Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance, if needed
Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL)
Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries
Experience in implementing and maintaining database security measures
Skilled in database performance tuning and troubleshooting
Familiarity with backup and recovery procedures
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Senior:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
8-11 years of hands-on experience in database administration
US Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance, if needed
Strong knowledge of multiple database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database scripts
Extensive experience in implementing and maintaining database security measures
Advanced skills in performance tuning, capacity planning, and troubleshooting
Expertise in backup and recovery strategies, including high availability solutions
Strong project management and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication abilities and experience in cross-functional team collaboration
Subject Matter Expert/SME:
Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field (equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
Minimum of 12 years of extensive experience in database administration, with a focus on complex, enterprise-level systems
US Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance, if needed
Demonstrated expertise in multiple database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, NoSQL databases)
Proven track record of implementing robust security measures for high-security database environments
Extensive experience in performance optimization, high availability solutions, and disaster recovery planning
Strong background in data modeling, database design, and systems integration
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex database issues
Superior communication skills, adept at explaining technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Desired:
Junior-level:
Experience with specific database platforms (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL)
Familiarity with data backup and recovery procedures
Basic knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python)
Intermediate:
Relevant database certifications
Experience with cloud-based database services

Senior:
Master's degree

The proposed salary range for this position is:
