Join the field of Network Technology within our R&D department which contributes to the evolution of the next generation of leading networking products. We are building firmware, SDK, simulators, and compilers for Cisco Silicon One™ architecture and work in developing pioneering technology.
Who You'll Work With
The team is working on the new generation of silicon, which will be part of all Cisco device families and drive the future of the Internet.
You will be part of the CI/CD team responsible for stability of development infrastructure, with focus on DB on which all our tools are relying.
This is an opportunity to work with worldwide distributed Cisco R&D centers and learn from the best engineers in the field.

What You'll DoImplementat and maintain the database landscapeFix and fine-tune databases to improve efficiency and performanceImplementat and advise on databases for new applicationsAnalyze and mitigate faults and problemsAnalyse and troubleshoot performance issuesConfigure monitoring and ensure reliability
Minimum Qualifications:Academic background in computer technology (BSc/MSc in a relevant field)Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and database administration (installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and migrations)Knowledge of SQL and database programming (including database structures, query optimization and performance tuning)Backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning, experience with replication and clusteringMonitoring and optimizing database performance (system resource usage, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and performance issues)Proficiency in spoken and written English
Preferred Qualifications:Trend analysis and proactive issue resolution for database-related componentsScripting and automation (Python, Shell scripting – preferable)NoSQL databases experienceExperience with Elastic Stack technologiesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and in a team
