Join Team Amex and let's lead the way together. **What are we looking for?** Proven current development DBA experience. Strong understanding of backups, disaster recovery, high availability and failover design concepts. Experience in collaborating with development teams to design and optimize database schemas and queries with ability to guide application teams in debugging performance issues. Proven experience of configuring databases for optimal performance and resource utilization and ability to make decisions on capacity planning and sizing. Knowledge of database monitoring solutions and ability to debug and address replication, failover or performance issues. Candidate should have these skills on EITHER: NoSQL – Couchbase 7, or Cassandra OR RDBMS – Oracle19c or later, or Postgres 15 (SQL Server a bonus) Candidates must be self-motivated and willing to pick up new database challenges, with an ability to think outside the box. Must be prepared to work outside normal working hours from time to time. The ideal candidate must have good communication skills in English DevOps skills (GIT, Liquibase, Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins), and knowledge of database implementation on the Cloud, would be a bonus. Demonstrable experience in implementing and/or managing such systems in 1 or more database technologies. **How will you make an impact in this role?** We are looking for someone to grow into supporting current and emerging database technologies, working closely with applications teams to design performant, secure and scalable database solutions. The successful candidate must be able to understand the business need and the best way to make this a reality. **Minimum Qualifications** Graduate/ Postgraduate qualifications in an IT related area.
