Working under close guidance, this position contributes to routine database operations and assists in implementing solutions that maintain data quality and integrity across multiple environments. In this position you will: + Assist in the installation, configuration, and deployment of databases in both classified and unclassified environments. + Monitor system performance using basic tuning techniques to ensure optimal database health. + Help implement and maintain data backups, disaster recovery procedures, and restore processes. + Participate in controlling data access privileges and permissions for user and service accounts. + Contribute to updating documentation and maintaining database standards. + Collaborate with team members to support data workflows for bronze, silver, and gold data tables. + Help identify recurring issues and suggest improvements for operational efficiency. + Support basic ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to maintain data pipelines. + Execute simple data quality checks to ensure the accuracy and consistency of data. + Assist in troubleshooting database errors and performance bottlenecks. + Escalate complex technical issues to senior team members as needed. + Adhere to security protocols and compliance requirements in database operations. + Assist in Data Migration and Integration Efforts – Support the transition of data between systems by helping with Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes and ensuring data consistency across different platforms. + Monitor and Troubleshoot Database Performance Issues – Identify potential bottlenecks, perform root cause analysis, and work with senior architects to implement solutions that enhance database reliability and efficiency. + Support Compliance and Regulatory Requirements – Ensure database structures and data management practices align with industry regulations (by assisting in audits and implementing necessary compliance measures. **Basic Qualifications:** + As a requirement of this position, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. In accordance with 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(2)(C) , Epsilon will not consider candidates for this position who do not meet the aforementioned conditions. + At least 1 year of experience in database administration or related field. + DOD 8570 IAT Level II Certification may be required (GSEC, GICSP, CND, CySA+, Security+ CE, SSCP or CCNA-Security). + Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server) and basic SQL query writing. + Basic understanding of data modeling concepts, indexing, and database design. + Exposure to database backup, restore, and recovery procedures. + Ability to navigate Linux or Windows Server environments for database installations and maintenance. + Understanding of security practices, including role-based access and permission controls. + Willingness to learn and work with cloud environments (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL). + Basic knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Grafana) for database performance. + Strong attention to detail with a willingness to document processes and changes. + Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset. + One or more of the following certifications are desired: AWS Certified Developer, Databricks, Agile/Scrum, Python Programmer **Other:** + Must hold an Active DOD Secret, Top Secret or TS/SCI Clearance + Must be located within a two (2) hour commute of the physical work location **Physical Demands and Working Conditions:** Listed below are the physical or mental requirements necessary for the job's performance.
