By ensuring reliable data platforms and guiding best practices, this position plays a key role in supporting data-driven initiatives, including AI/ML, data productization, and advanced automation across the organization. In this position you will: + Design, implement, and maintain highly scalable and secure database environments in both classified and unclassified domains. + Develop long-term database strategies aligned with organizational goals and future growth. + Oversee the entire lifecycle of the bronze, silver, and gold data tables to maintain data integrity. + Lead performance tuning efforts, employing advanced techniques to reduce query times and optimize resource utilization. + Guide teams in designing and executing robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans. + Establish and enforce policies for data governance, security, and regulatory compliance. + Serve as a technical authority for AI/ML data needs, ensuring databases are structured for high-volume data consumption. + Drive continuous improvements in database operations, leveraging automation and CI/CD best practices. + Lead cross-functional collaborations to integrate database solutions with applications, pipelines, and analytics platforms. + Oversee database monitoring, proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks or potential issues. + Provide mentorship and direction to junior and mid-level administrators, fostering professional growth. + Research emerging technologies and methodologies to propose innovative solutions for future challenges. + Assist in Data Migration and Integration Efforts – Support the transition of data between systems by helping with Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes and ensuring data consistency across different platforms. + Monitor and Troubleshoot Database Performance Issues – Identify potential bottlenecks, perform root cause analysis, and work with senior architects to implement solutions that enhance database reliability and efficiency. + Support Compliance and Regulatory Requirements – Ensure database structures and data management practices align with industry regulations (by assisting in audits and implementing necessary compliance measures. **Basic Qualifications:** + As a requirement of this position, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. In accordance with 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(2)(C) , Epsilon will not consider candidates for this position who do not meet the aforementioned conditions. + At least 5 years of experience in database administration, with proven leadership in complex environments. + DOD 8570 IAT Level II Certification may be required (GSEC, GICSP, CND, CySA+, Security+ CE, SSCP or CCNA-Security). + Expert-level proficiency in SQL performance tuning, database architecture, and high-availability solutions. + Experience managing large-scale relational and NoSQL databases in production (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB). + Mastery of ETL pipelines, data modeling, and advanced indexing strategies. + Proficiency with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) for infrastructure and configuration management. + Comprehensive knowledge of cloud database services and containerization (e.g., AWS Aurora, Kubernetes). + Advanced understanding of security frameworks, data encryption, and compliance regulations. + Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and version control systems (e.g., Git). + Excellent problem-solving skills and a proven track record of delivering optimized solutions. + One or more of the following certifications are desired: AWS Certified Developer, Databricks, Agile/Scrum, Python Programme **Other:** + Must hold an Active DOD Secret, Top Secret or TS/SCI Clearance + Must be located within a two (2) hour commute of the physical work location **Physical Demands and Working Conditions:** Listed below are the physical or mental requirements necessary for the job's performance.
