Database Administrator with AWS and DB2
**Introduction** An Application Database Administrator specializes in managing and optimizing databases using products such as Oracle, MS SQL Server, DB2, and Teradata. Their primary responsibilities include installing, configuring, and maintaining databases, ensuring high availability, implementing disaster recovery strategies, and performing performance tuning. This role requires a strong understanding of database concepts, system administration, and programming. By focusing on these key areas, the Application Database Administrator plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation and efficient performance of applications relying on databases. **Your role and responsibilities** •5+ years of experience in database administration, with a focus on DB2 and AWS. •In-depth knowledge of DB2 database management system, including database design, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. • Strong understanding of AWS services, including RDS, EC2, S3, and CloudWatch. •Experience with database backup and recovery, security, and compliance. •Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Excellent communication and documentation skills. •Manage and maintain IBM DB2 databases hosted on AWS RDS, including setup, configuration, and ongoing maintenance. •Good to have it (Not Mandatory) - Strong Understanding : AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar infrastructure-as-code tools **Required technical and professional expertise** •5+ years of experience in database administration, with a focus on DB2 and AWS. •In-depth knowledge of DB2 database management system, including database design, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. • Strong understanding of AWS services, including RDS, EC2, S3, and CloudWatch. •Experience with database backup and recovery, security, and compliance. •Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Excellent communication and documentation skills. •Manage and maintain IBM DB2 databases hosted on AWS RDS, including setup, configuration, and ongoing maintenance. •Good to have it (Not Mandatory) - Strong Understanding : AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar infrastructure-as-code tools. **Preferred technical and professional experience** Hiring manager and Recruiter should collaborate to create the relevant verbiage.
