As a contract Database Developer, you enjoy contributing to a team that is solving complex data, usability, security, and scalability problems. You love to work on automation, solve problems, metrics, traditional and next generation databases. You truly believe the value databases play in delivering world class solution to customers. You are excited to leverage the cloud infrastructure of AWS to create new market changing solutions, while working under a lean methodology.

What You'll Do
Design, develop and optimize data layer code (queries, views, stored procedures) and schema to support application and performance requirements
Evangelize and document SQL/Data layer best practices
Design and build next generation database infrastructure that will support thousands of customers in a cloud-based healthcare platform application
Analyze issues holistically from the application tier through the database, down to storage.
Work closely with our partners as well as development, operations, and business teams to create scalable & automated solutions
Troubleshoot and fix database performance issues including optimizing application queries/query plans
Support our Reporting/BI initiatives
Ability to participate in on-call rotation
Build automation & enforce security

What You'll Need
These attributes: ownership, highly collaborative, positive attitude, security minded
Knowledge of database warehousing and business intelligence
Familiarity with C# programming concepts
5+ years experience in the following:
- Microsoft SQL Server environment
- Postgres (PostgreSQL)
- System Engineering/Operations/Administration
- DB performance tuning, backup/recovery, troubleshooting, and scalability/capacity planning
- Advanced Knowledge in Availability Groups, AlwaysOn, Transactional Replication, Clustering and T-SQL
- High level programming language like C#, Java
3+ years experience in the following:
- Operations in AWS (RDS is a plus)
- Windows & Linux fundamentals
- Deployment automation
- Monitors and maintain database security
- Working knowledge of at least one scripting language (Powershell/Python/Bash)
- Monitoring System (Datadog is a plus)
Experience with HIPAA, PCI, ISO 27001, or other security compliance standard or certification
Experience and success working in a fast-paced, high-intensity, rapidly changing agile environment
