As a Database Engineer (DBE), you’ll be a key resource in providing technical leadership and support on all the stages of Database Administration and architecture implementation. We operate in an agile environment with rapid changes and improvements deployed to our systems every day. Collaboration is a huge part of this role and we are looking for an enthusiastic team member to engage and collaborate with leaders and team members from teams across our enterprise (including Server, Infrastructure, dozens of Development teams, and more), as we continue our transformation from a platform-based to a solution-based shop. As a DBE, you’ll help us design and execute on those improvements, so we can take our whole organization to the next level. You will have an impactful voice in shaping our Database Administration direction, strategy, and execution at the most innovative and disruptive company in the fintech space.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING Implement and manage HA and DR solutions for all databasesCapacity planning for large and dynamic highly transactional databasesDrive and oversee workload analysis, performance benchmarking, and troubleshooting performance issues Design, implement and maintain database security and data encryption polices to meet company’s regulatory standards Sharing your expertise of Data Management philosophies and applying them to enhance existing and to-be architectures Implement and maintain monitoring, automation, data management and data governanceInstall and configure new databases instances, participate in SQL upgrades, and patching to keep systems to current standards WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Must Have Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in database administration/database engineer roles in a clustered/high-availability environmentSQL Server 2017 or above Database Administration and ManagementProven track record building infrastructure and managing multiple database instances in on-prem and cloud (Azure, etc.) environments Experience with implementing SQL Server High Availability technologies  An understanding and working knowledge of SQL Server Availability groups and Windows Failover clustering

 

Nice to Have Qualifications:

BS or MS in a Computer Science or related degreeMCDBA or Cloud certificationSSAS, SSRS, and data warehouse administration experienceExperience in managing Windows serversExperience with utilizing database snapshots as a backup / restore strategyFamiliarity with data encryption technologies and methodsKnowledge of data governance and big data concepts (Hadoop, Hive, Synapse, etc.)Familiarity with MongoDB, Kafka, Redis or other NoSQL technologiesCode automation and Source control experience
